I absolutely adore this pillow! As a breastfeeding/cosleeping mama, my sleep is already limited. This pillow has helped alleviate the hip and back pain I was experiencing! I recommend it to all my cosleeping friends. Such a wonderful product!
Love this side lying pillow, it seems to be more comfortable on my left side than right, but leaning back on the pillow for support is key! Love the lightweight design, it’s easy to maneuver in the middle of the night when I switch sides frequently for night nursing. I splurged and took a risk on the pillow but so far it’s been worth it! Fast shipping and great customer service too!
I really love the pillow! Feels great and I thought.. this is what I always imagined I needed.. I try to make pillows work for me in this way so it was perfect that it was designed for this!”
Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised at how well the package came shipped. The pillow look chic and comfy. The brochure was very helpful to make sure I was using the product correctly to get the best results. Upon our first use I felt a little uncomfortable because I wasn’t used to having support while nursing on my side. I noticed a difference in my sons latch and the pillow helped my nipple placement seem pretty spot on. After a few more uses I got used to the pillow and haven’t looked back since.
Upon receiving I was slightly disappointed at the size but once I used it that night, I quickly changed my mind. It fit perfectly and didnt hinder the sleeping arrangements for my husband and other child - we’re a 4 to a bed family! After using this pillow for a week I drastically seen an improvement in my sleep and how I feel in the mornings. This is by far the best nursing pillow I’ve had - much better than the $70 body pillow!
If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, and /or recovering from a cesarean section delivery, lying on your side is an important component of your rest.
Pregnant women and breastfeeding moms, for a time, have a hormone present in their bodies called relaxin. Relaxin can cause symptoms such as reduced stability in the pelvis and joints. So when both pregnant side-lying sleepers and side-lying breastfeeding mothers stay laying down on their side, there is increased discomfort in their joints, pelvis, and back.
Also, mothers who experienced cesarean sections at birth also struggle to nurse their babies across the front of their bodies as they recover from surgery. Extended side-lying can lead to much physical discomfort for these women.
Mamalia Side-lying Back Support Wedge
This patent-pending pillow design allows you to shift your body weight backward while maintaining a side-lying position. This relieves downward pressure on the knees, hips, and back. It allows for easier rest and breastfeeding in the side-lying position by providing support and comfort to the back and hips.
The design is unique in that it has a special wedge feature that becomes entrapped under the user’s side, which secures the pillow in place; decreasing the ability for the pillow to move due to pressure from the back. With the pillow secured in place, the user has optimum support from the round support cushion and increased relief from discomfort in the joints, pelvis, and back.
